Mother's Day

This will be the first Mother's Day since my Mom became an angel. What can I say about this amazing lady? I miss her so much. She always wanted me to write a story about her.
My mother was an amazing artist. She made the most beautiful floral arrangements and wreathes. She had a very clean style. She loved sophisticated elegance. Never wanted anything to look homey or home made. Her floral arrangements were grand and sweeping.
She worked with silk flowers and would joke about the fact that she could bend them to her will. She got to decide what direction they faced. LOL that was Mom.
Everyone I know has a wreathe made by my Mom. She made them and gave them away.
Last night I took a class in Floral design and we created this arrangement above. I thought of her all night.
On the way home from the class I spotted a trash bin brimming with the biggest wreath I ever saw. Just as I was writing this I realized it was a message from Mom.

It is very large. She is telling me to think BIG!Do you think it means anything that it is PINK ? My Mom always told me I could do anything if I put my mind to it. She was a force of nature and still is as far as I'm concerned. She would have loved that I am opening a Little Pink Boutique.
So this post is in loving memory of Dolores ......my Mom...my biggest fan.

Hi Lilli!

I loved reading all about how sweet your mom was. You must miss her so much. I truly believe that the wreath was a gift from your sweet mom. And I am so sure she is with you always and someday you will see her again. So glad I stopped by to see your blog. It's so pretty.

Hi Lilli,
How lovely and frothy. Beautiful bowl, too. What a sweet tribute to your mother. I can't believe you did that in just one night, I am florally challenged (except for floral china, lol).

Hi Lilli! Whar a lovely tribute to your dear Mom. I liked hearing about how she decorated with flowers. I think she definitely was with you when you made the arrangement and then found that beautiful pink wreath! Thank you for sharing your memories.

Lilli....what a beautiful post you have written! Don't you just love it when you get a "sign" and recognize it? It had to be your mother who placed that beautiful big, pink wreath on the curb for you....why else would an expensive wreath like that be waiting there?

Hi Lilli!
Your arrangement is on par with your tribute....glorious! I believe your Mother absolutely gifted you with your curbside treasure. =0]
I love to come to your lil spot and see all the lovely treasures you share with us. It makes me a little nostalgic to see the vintage linens at times, but the memories they evoke for me are like jewels. And you know sometimes a girl's gotta go into her jewelry box and just admire all her lovelies! ;0] xoxo

Lilli,
What a wonderful tribute to your sweet Mom. You must have learned so much from her. The arrangement is gorgeous. (There is nothing I get more pleasure from than working with flowers) This will be my second Mother's Day without my Mom but I talk to her daily. She too has sent a few special surprises and advice to me since she has been gone. I can feel her presence so strongly at times. Our Moms are always with us - and that brings me so much comfort, I hope it does for you as well.
